Metaphysics through the kaleidoscope

Following from last month's ‘metaphysical symbol’, here's an animated teaser, …

Integration of three axioms, Identity Ontology, Mechanics and Dimensions

What various aspects of the animation represent

  • Greyness: the undefined parts of everything (the overall space/time universe);

  • White: a (space/time) difference that makes a difference (in that it is a contrast with black);

  • Black: a (space/time) difference that makes a difference (in that it is a contrast with white);

  • The emerging and fading outer circle represents our epistemological scope within the greyness;

  • The three inner circles/spheres:

  1. Axiom of Identity-Ontology (where consciousness identifies existence’s identity);
  2. Axiom of Identity-Mechanics (from analogue to digital);
  3. Axiom of Identity-Dimensions (space/time via entity/process dynamic).

  • What the intersections might represent… I’m working on that!

NB, the number 3 is special (a child might say ‘magical’).
For any one existing thing:

  1. There’s the entity itself;
  2. There’s its opposite (which circumscribes and thus defines the entity in space/time);
  3. There’s the whole (which, if appreciated as information, is ‘more’ than the sum of the two parts).

It might not look like it but I'm trying to rescue this trichotomy of ideas from philosophical rationalism/mysticism.
I think there's something in it that's worth pursuing.
